About Dr. Kenneth L. Enns, C.Psych.

Dr. Kenneth Enns, C.Psych. holds a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Clinical-Counselling Psychology from York University in Toronto, Ontario. He has been registered as a psychologist in Manitoba since 1980 with Clinical and School Psychology as his areas of competence recognized by the provincial regulatory body, the Psychological Association of Manitoba (P.A.M.). The “C.Psych.” professional designation indicates his registration/certification as a psychologist with P.A.M.

 

Dr. Kenneth Enns has more than seven years of graduate school training in psychology and decades of experience as a registered psychologist, working since 1980 with a wide range of individuals, couples, families, and organizations. Although he primarily works with individuals and couples, he also provides services to organizations, with the goal of helping their clients or employees. His consultation to organizations involves the application of evidence-based knowledge and professional techniques of psychology in these organizational settings.

 

Dr. Enns is listed in the Canadian Register of Health Service Psychologists (Manitoba Section). In the past, he has trained or worked at a centre for alcoholism research and rehabilitation, a university counselling and development centre, a mental health centre, a school division educational support service, and the psychiatric departments of two general hospitals.

 

At present, Dr. Kenneth Enns provides psychological assessment, psychological therapy, and consultation primarily to adults, but he also provides therapy to adolescents who are at least fourteen years of age, and psychological assessments to individuals from six years of age to senior adulthood.

 

Dr. Kenneth Enns has helped his clients through psychological assessment, psychological therapy, and consultation, to manage a wide variety of issues in both their personal lives and careers. He has helped his clients through such services as:

Assessment and consultation regarding vocational rehabilitation, hiring, promotion, career recovery, career development and career transition

Assessment and therapy for personality traits, mental health, behaviour patterns, and stress

Assessment of cognitive and intellectual functioning

Assessment of learning disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity, autism, and academic skills

Assessment to determine eligibility for disability funding or services

Vocational assessment and counselling

Assessment and counselling to improve learning strategies and coping with learning disabilities, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

Parental capacity assessment and parental skills counselling

Dr. Kenneth Enns makes use of one or more psychotherapeutic approaches in his work with clients. The combination of therapeutic approaches which would be used depends on the challenges his clients are experiencing and their comfort with different therapeutic techniques. Most often therapy will involve a combination of cognitive-behavioural and emotion-focussed therapies, with mindfulness or other approaches used when they are likely to be the most helpful for his clients.
